What is Naloxone?

Naloxone is a life-saving medication that can reverse an opioid overdose. It's safe, easy to use, and available throughout our community.

How to Use Naloxone

  1. Call 911 immediately
  2. Give naloxone as instructed on the package
  3. Try to keep the person awake and breathing
  4. Lay the person on their side to prevent choking
  5. Stay with them until emergency help arrives

Remember: North Carolina's Good Samaritan Law protects you when helping someone during an overdose.
